Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) Registration

Overview

All Central Government, Local Authorities and Parastatal Organizations are required to purchase locally manufactured products and services. Therefore, eligible enterprises should register for the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) initiative and be issued with an EDD certificate that is used for tendering. 

Who is eligible?

Locally registered businesses engaged in manufacturing, service provision (excluding agents/ distributors/retailers/resellers/ etc) and agricultural production.

How do I get this service?
  • Download and complete the EDD Application Form, submit with supporting documents to the nearest Department of Industrial Affairs (DIA).
  • ​The applicant will be notified of the outcome via SMS, if successful, they have to collect the certificate 
What supporting documents are required?
  • A certified copy of the certificate of registration and / or incorporation
  • A certified copy of a valid relevant license/ Registration certificate or the letter of waiver
  • A Copy of Tax Clearance Certificate Application to transfer a Licence
  • Financial statements for the enterprises with an annual turnover of below BWP 500,000.00
  • Audited financial statements, for those enterprises with an annual turnover of BWP 500,000.00 and above
  • Projected financial statements for enterprises who have been operating less than a year
